BharatPe Strengthens Leadership Team with Appointment of Kohinoor Biswas to Drive Consumer Lending

New Delhi-based Fintech Continues to Bolster Executive Roster Following Co-Founder Departures

BharatPe, a prominent fintech startup, has recently announced the appointment of Kohinoor Biswas as the head of its consumer lending vertical, solidifying its position in the digital lending landscape. This strategic move comes as the company aims to expand its lending services and enhance its market presence.

Biswas, a seasoned professional with a strong background in credit card portfolios, joins BharatPe after serving as the head of the credit card division at ICICI Bank. With his extensive experience in the financial sector, including previous roles at HDFC Bank, Biswas brings valuable expertise to his new position.

Under Biswas’ leadership, BharatPe is set to revolutionize its lending business, leveraging his proficiency in credit card operations to streamline processes and foster growth. By tapping into his rich knowledge of the domain, BharatPe aims to establish itself as a leader in the consumer lending market.

This development marks the third significant change in BharatPe’s top leadership following the departures of co-founders Ashneer Grover and Bhavik Koladiya. These executive shifts have prompted the company to focus on attracting top talent to fuel its expansion plans and ensure continued success.

To further strengthen its management team, BharatPe has also recently welcomed Aparna Kuppuswamy as the chief risk officer and Sandeep Indurkar as the chief business officer. Kuppuswamy, previously holding a prominent position at SBICard, brings a wealth of risk management expertise to the table. Similarly, Indurkar’s extensive experience as the payments head at ICICI Bank positions him well to drive strategic growth initiatives for the company.

Kohinoor Biswas will report directly to Nalin Negi, who currently serves as the acting CEO and CFO at BharatPe. Negi, formerly associated with SBICard, brings a strong understanding of the financial industry and will provide guidance and support to Biswas as the company embarks on its ambitious expansion plans.

Negi has expressed confidence in Biswas’ ability to lead BharatPe’s lending business, emphasizing the company’s determination to advance its flagship product, PostPe. With an impressive annualized total payment volume of approximately Rs 5,000 crore, PostPe 2.0 is poised to redefine digital lending and revolutionize the way transactions are conducted.

BharatPe’s strategic decision to appoint Kohinoor Biswas highlights its commitment to innovation and growth in the fintech sector. With a talented leadership team in place, the company is well-positioned to capitalize on emerging opportunities and solidify its position as a leading player in the Indian digital lending landscape.
